Recent work includes
- New brake pads front and rear (new rear rotors)
- Full cooling system flush
- Major serviced carried out with new filters and oil.
The T5 box has been flushed and serviced, new clutch cable installed and manual pedal box has been reinforced (a must have for any manual e-series as they break easily) along with a billet short shifter which has dramatically improved the shift feel of the box.
The motor is from a 2002 AU XR6, when the motor was installed it had a new gasket kit throughout and timing chain replaced. The head was also machined and head gasket replaced. (has done 35,000km since conversion)
The head is a genuine Tickford head and has received minor porting as well as a reground Tickford cam with heavy duty valve springs to suit.
The exhaust consists of pacemaker headers, with a 2.5" exhaust system and high flow cat.
The LSD was rebuilt when installed and is running 3.45 gearing.
Injectors professionally cleaned and re-installed with new seals.
New Idle control sensor.
New TPS sensor.
New 02 sensor.
and BRAND NEW 235 tyres all round.
Mechanically the car is perfect!
When any problems arose they were addressed immediately, with almost always brand new parts.
Regode until Febuary next year.
The only things that need attending to are,
- The front seats are torn. (back seats perfect)
- Front bumper could do with a re-spray (not that bad)
- Passenger side window mechanism not working
- Minor shopping centre dents here and there.
This car has the best of both worlds. A full Fairmont interior with climate control, digital trip computer, cruise control, electric windows and leather interior. But with the performance and looks of a manual XR6.
